Welcome to Celebrations Theatrical Group

Celebrations is a group of people with learning difficulties who perform musical / theatrical shows at events and fundraising concerts.

The group is based in the London Borough of Bexley but is open to any one with learning disabilities who can make their way to our weekly sessions.

The group encompasses all skills and abilities and the aim is for people to enjoy and express themselves, develop skills and to have the opportunity to perform on the live public stage.

The group was formed many years ago by a lady called Caroline McGonigle. It was an opportunity for people to meet and to make and enjoy music. It was then lead for a number of years by Caroline Walker, unfortunately recently, Caroline has had health problems which have prevented her from leading the Group.

The group is currently facilitated by Julian Thornington, Musical Director. Other important people in our organisation are Mary Barrette, Assistant Musical Director, Barry Proctor our Chair,musicians who play at our shows and, most importantly, friends, family and carers who support the group by providing refreshments, enabling members to attend and supporting our shows.
